Z.E.R.O. is based out of Seattle, WA and was formed in 2012 to explore the potential of the ukulele in Frank's music. It has since grown from that early concept into something far larger.

What began as a joke and a challenge involving Frank's music and the ukulele, quickly acquired a momentum of its own. The first gig was booked before the band had a name. (Just the idea of FZ's music being performed on the ukulele seems to make people laugh.) One thing led to another, and in the spring of 2015, Z.E.R.O. released their 'Money? What Money? CD on Cordelia Records.

A few years have gone by and Z.E.R.O. now has literally dozens of contributors*, 6 full length CDs and has been included on 7 compilation CDs of Frank's music. The band has logged in shows with many Zappa alumni at the leading Zappa festivals in Europe. Before the pandemic slowed everything down, Z.E.R.O. managed to do a short tour of the Pacific NW every year or so featuring former members of the Zappa band as guest artists. As of 2023, the band is still working away at interpreting Frank's music in the studio and on stage whenever possible.
